The Strategic Plan Development and Monitoring Committee has been set up
The UIB Strategic Plan Development and Monitoring Committee has been set up with the objective of submitting a Strategic Plan proposal to the Governing Council for approval. The committee comprises 17 members that represent all university community groups, as well as the Balearic Department for European Funds, University and Culture.
As stated in the regulatory agreement governing the production of the Strategic Plan, one of the main foundations for the plan is that the preparation process must be participatory, and therefore the necessary means to ensure the community can take part must be set in place. In an exercise of transparency, the committee has agreed that the entire production process for the plan must be public, including the committee’s agreements, which will be published on the Strategic Plan website.
Attendants at the meeting agreed that starting this enterprise was of paramount importance, since the last strategic plan produced by the institution dates back to the 2002-2006 period, although there have been some new strategic guidelines in different areas since then.
The committee will draft a proposal for the institution’s mission, vision and values. In order to produce a proposal of strategic goals, including the relevant actions to attain them, the committee will be assisted by four working groups organised in the following central themes or pillars:
- Teaching
- Research
- Transfer and culture
- Management
The committee’s goal is to bring the agreed Strategic Plan proposal to the Governing Council in July 2023, so that it can be implemented at the beginning of the upcoming 2023-24 academic year.
