Items discussed at the meeting
Item 1. Approval, Where Appropriate, of the Mission, Vision and Values Proposal
The mission, vision and values proposal drafted and submitted by the Strategic Plan Committee was approved at the Governing Council meeting held on 20th December 2022. Nevertheless, it was requested that a minor amendment be made to the vision text. This asynchronous meeting has consequently been arranged for all committee members to vote by email whether they agree or disagree with the proposed amendment.
The first paragraph for vision currently reads as follows: ‘A university of excellence generating and transferring scientific knowledge, and lifelong learning, to stand as a benchmark for human development based on inquisitiveness and free, innovative and critical thinking.’
The proposed amendment, shown in bold, is as follows: ‘A university of excellence generating and transferring scientific knowledge and culture, and lifelong learning, to stand as a benchmark for human development based on inquisitiveness and free, innovative and critical thinking.’
In the event that the amendment is approved, it shall also be applied in the Spanish and English versions of the plan.
